Note: all board members required to attend the
monthly board and member meetings.
President
The President helps oversee all aspects of the club functions. It
is a rewarding position in that you meet so many wonderful people
and are able to add so much to the lives of others in the community.
The President is responsible to the group, the community, and the
international organization. It sounds like a lot, but it’s
also really fun! Part of the President’s job is to be a “balancer”
-- making sure that all members are being treated fairly and with
respect. Part of this responsibility also carries with it the need
to help members' voices be heard. And always remember that it is
important to delegate the work. It is too much to do alone. Make
sure you take advantage of the fact that you have other volunteers
and let their qualities shine through!
Duties:
- To preside at all meetings.
- To act as liaison with other organizations and the community.
- To organize the local group’s activities with the help
of the AVP and the Executive Board.
- To act as liaison between the local support group and the MOMS
Club corporation and to be responsible for preparing and presenting
any reports on the local group’s activities as may be required
by the corporation.
- To produce the monthly newsletter sent to the membership.
Administrative Vice
President
Duties:
- To assist the President in fulfilling her duties.
- To coordinate the service projects for the year. (Required
to do at least one.) Ideas presented to the board by members should
be reviewed and then brought to a vote at a member meeting. It
should be a “group” project not just the AVP. It’s
a wonderful feeling to know that you helped organize a charitable
event.
- To assume the duties of the President when she is not available.
- Coordinate a service project committee if desired.
- The AVP and committee should coordinate the projects, figure
out what it they will entail and seek volunteers to do the various
jobs.
Treasurer
Duties:
- To be responsible for all funds of the group, and to deposit
all such funds in the name of the group in such banks, trust companies,
or other depositories as shall be selected by the Executive Board.
- To maintain financial records of the group and to keep those.
- To receive and legally disperse any funds as directed by the
Executive Board and to give proper vouchers and receipts for any
transactions.
- To prepare and present financial report to the Executive Board
and members of the group at least once a year, and to prepare
any other financial reports as may be required by the MOMS Club
corporation.
- Turn in Member Renewal info.
Secretary
The Secretary plays a very important role as the recordkeeper of
the group. She, too, helps guide the group’s activities and
represents all the members at the Board meeting.
Duties:
- To compile a roster of all members to be distributed at least
bi-monthly.
- To coordinate or prepare any correspondence necessary for the
support of the group in cooperation with the President.
- To take minutes of business.
Membership Vice President
The Membership VP is somewhat the “spokesperson” for
the club in that they are usually the first person Moms talk to
about the club and retrieve info. The Membership VP is the “people
person” by coordinating the publicity, hospitality, and fellowship
of the group, and is an important member of the board.
Duties:
- To promote membership within the group.
- To publicize the group in the community, and to coordinate
such publicity with the President who is the group’s liaison
with the community.
- To assist the Treasurer in collecting dues.
- To coordinate hospitality at the meetings.
- To turn in monthly updates to the Newsletter Editor on New
Members.
- Responsible for giving information to the public when prospective
members contact
the group.
- Responsible to sending New Member Packets and following up
with interested Moms.
